Workflow – Dynamic Workflow States

Optionally, the administrator can configure some workflow STATES to be special states called DYNAMIC workflow STATES. The standard workflow STATE cannot be skipped/by-passed and a decision maker has to approve it. A DYNAMIC workflow STATE may be skipped/by-passed, essentially allowing it to be considered DYNAMICALLY unnecessary (for the specific EC record) and jumping over the DYNAMIC STATE to go directly to the next STATE within the workflow PROCESS. DYNAMIC workflow STATES are displayed with a striped background within the [WORKFLOW] grid:

Referencing the figure above, when the decision maker approves from the [CN_Manufacturing] workflow STATE, they are prompted on whether or not the EC record should be submitted to the DYNAMIC workflow STATE [CN_EngineeringManager] or if it should skip the noted DYNAMIC STATE and go directly to the [CN_ProcessControls] STATE:

If the decision maker checks the box next to the DYNAMIC workflow STATE, then the DYNAMIC STATE will NOT be skipped and the record will go into that STATE. If the decision maker does not check the box next to the DYNAMIC workflow STATE, then the DYNAMIC STATE will be skipped and the record will go to the next STATE:
