Workflow – On Hold

A decision maker can place an EC record (which is in workflow) [On Hold] for a temporary amount of time. For example, assume that the decision makers from the Purchasing Department are on vacation. Another decision maker for the EC record’s current workflow state (or an administrator), can place the EC records waiting for approval from the Purchasing Department [ On Hold ] using the workflow’s [Reject] Button and selecting its [Place On Manual Hold] command:

A dialog similar to the following dialog allows the decision maker to enter some notes as to why the EC record is being placed [On Hold]. From the dialog, the decision maker can also select the specific decision maker’s identity that can remove the [On Hold] status from the EC record:

The expected information is recorded and visible from the EC record’s [ WORKFLOW_EVENT_LOG ] grid (and usually an email notification is initiated):

From the EC record’s [ DOCUMENT ] grid, its workflow Button will be disabled and display [On Hold] until its hold status is removed:
