Data Form – Buttons: View Only Mode, Open EC

Buttons: View Mode, Open EC:

If the EC Data Form is opened in View mode and the EC record has not been completely approved through workflow and it has not been terminated, there are usually three action Buttons in its lower portion: • Its [ Refresh ] Button will initially be disabled. While the EC Data Form is opened (perhaps for an extended timeframe), if a different user opened the EC Data Form in Edit mode and they made changes to its values, the [ Refresh ] Button can be used to regenerate the contents within the EC Data Form. The user can hover over the [ Refresh ] Button and if the EC Data Form should be refreshed, its [ Refresh ] Button is automatically enabled. Selecting its [ Refresh ] Button will update the contents within the EC Data Form even though it is opened in View mode. • Its [ Edit ] Button will initially be disabled. Hovering over its [ Edit ] Button at this time will either allow its [ Edit ] Button to be enabled (if the EC record is not already being edited by another user) or display the name of the user that currently has the EC record opened in Edit mode (noted by its Locked By: status). If the [ Edit ] Button becomes enabled and the user selects it, the EC Data Form will be refreshed automatically and opened in Edit mode:

• Selecting its [ Close ] Button will close the EC Data Form entirely. NOTE: The administrator can configure the environment to deny users the right to Edit the EC Data Form and those users will only see the [ Edit ] Button .
