HERE COME THE MEN IN BLACK

Sometimes considering the menswear collections is an exercise in futility, bringing forth exclamations such as: “who is ever going to wear that!” “extremely practical!” and on occasion just a shake of my head with no words at all. A perennial look for well-dressed men is tonal dressing, and this season designers showed a genuinely practical and wearable version. Forget head-to-toe chartreuse; wear black on black. Clothing, accessories, outerwear, mixing fabrics and textures; whatever way you style it, you can actually wear it. I love this casual look from Bottega Veneta – the luxurious fabrics and perfect cuts keep it from skewing gothic. At Berluti, a leather jacket worn over a double-breasted suit and shoes with hidden gold accents is a statement of cool.
