Robes Fitted for New Cardinal

San Diego Honored by Arrival Of China's New Cardinal Today ' Bishop Tien, En Route to Consistories in Rome, To Be Welcomed Here by Most Reverend Bishop Cardinal-designate Bishop John Tien, who will be China's I representative in the College of Cardinals, is expected to ar- 1 rive in San Diego Friday morni11g aboard the USS Warwick. j His Eminence will be met at the Eleventh Naval District dock by the Most Reverend Bishop, accompanied by his secretary,

the Rev. Douglas A. Moore; Capt. William A. Maguire, USN (ChC), Naval District Chaplain, and the Rev. Albert R. O'Hara, S.J., broth- er of Drs. F. Paul and Joseph J. O'Hara of San Diego. Father O'Hara spent eight years as a missionary in China and has a complete grasp of this oriental , language. It will be remembered that the noted Jesuit was consult- ed by the movie Industry about technical matters in regard to "The Keys of the Kingdom." The distinguished prelate will be the guest of His Excellency while In San Diego. The new Prince of the Church will be conveyed to the Bishop's residence on Sunset boulevard, where he will have the opportunity to assist at Holy Mass. His schedule calls for a govern- ment plane to fly him to New York, where he will embark for Rome, /

If China's new Cardinal remains overnight in San Diego, the Most Reverend Bishop will tender him a reception at his residence at which the priests of the Diocese will have the opportunity to pay their respects and extend felicita- tions. According to the word that has · been received. Cardinal Tien does not speak English but has a fluent interpreter with him.
