OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE Over four hundred years ago, Our Lady appeared to a humble Indian peasant, Juan Diego, near Mexico City. Later his cloak was found to bear her image, mi- raculously painted. The picture here reproduces that original, which has ever since been venerated in the shrine of Guadalupe. It was solemnly crowned by order of Leo XIII; and at the golden jubilee of coronation, observed in Mexico October, 1945, Our Lady was pro- claimed "Throne of Wisdom" and "Queen of Intel- lectuality in America."
