CONCLUSIONS

• LDR Brachytherapy is very effective in H&N tumors • The high doses in small volumes yields excellent local control rates while preserving the function and cosmesis. • LDR is no longer available. HDR/PDR can obtain the same results but standard fractionation is not well defined • CT planning allows for more accurate CTV dosimetries • Optimization avoid hot spots and decrease complications • The techniques are less complicated and the learning curve is shorter
