Back to School Labor Day Weekend is right around the corner. It may seem like the unofficial end of summer, but September is a summer month in Maine. This means the ferry can be just as busy with visitors, summer residents and year round residents. However, our schedule does change when school is back in session. CTC actually runs more trips during the school year to accommodate the students in the Yarmouth School District. If your child is headed off to the mainland for school this year please remember the following: Contact the Chebeague Island School to make sure they are on the list to get a Student Ferry Pass The CTC bus does not meet the morning or afternoon school boats. The CTC Bus provides a late but service to the High School for the 6:00pm and 7:45pm bus trips.

Barging is not done yet! September can be one of our busiest months of barging with contractors working to get projects done before winter. We plan to barge through through November. However, weather has more and more of an impact as the seasons start to change. After Indigenous Peoples’ Day Weekend we do have more flexibility on what days we can barge as it is considered our “shoulder season”. We are currently running trips from Cousins Island and Yankee Marina, so call the Office for all of your barging needs!
