AXXAIR, France, which specialises in orbital cutting, bevelling and welding equipment, has introduced its new Global Process. It offers three applications with a single machine, tube preparation (cut, bevel) to orbital welding (welding and prefabrication online). The Global Process, which it claims is economic and simple to implement and use, increases the rate of productivity and
quality of work and allows full traceability in welding through the integrated memory card in the power source. As part of its overall strategy of innovation and product differentiation, the company said that it regularly develops new products and recently the range of orbital welding has been expanded with a new head closed SATF-40ND, a new head open SATO-220 and a stroke unit/

IN the Thisvi Pipeworks in Greece, Corinth Pipeworks SA has produced the world’s first 26" longitudinally welded pipe by using the high-frequency-induction process (HFI). The line had been supplied by SMS Meer and SMS Elotherm, Germany. Its main products are pipes for gas, oil
and water lines in the dimensional range of 8 5/8" (220mm) to 24" (610mm), with wall thicknesses from 4 to 20mm, to API 5L and/or 5CT. Corinth Pipeworks additionally manufactures hollow sections with square (maximum 500 x 500) and rectangular (maximum 600 x 400) cross-sections in wall
