diameter range of 177.8 to 406.4mm at yield strengths above 165,000psi. Bronx/Taylor-Wilson has enjoyed success in Russia, with over 20 installations. Several BTW pipe straighteners are installed in major OCTG pipe producers within the Russian market, including a 13 5/8" six-roll fully-automated pipe straightener at Vyksa and two BTW hydrostatic pipe testers at TMK, which are capable of testing seamless 7" product at alternative API pressures up to 150mpa. This pressure had never been introduced to pipe testers of this size, and prepared TMK for the ever-changing requirements of API standards. In 2009 Bronx/Taylor-Wilson installed and commissioned a hydrotester at Tagmet in Russia for API 5CT product up to 273.1mm at pressures above 100 MPA. This was Bronx/Taylor-Wilson’s fourth high pressure machine for the TMK group in Russia. The most recent shipments were to the Interpipe Group for a 339.7mm, 125 MPA API pipe testing machine and an additional series 6.CR.11 pipe straightening machine processing high grade 346mm thick wall pipe at yield strengths of 165,000psi. BTW is also designing and manufacturing another series 6.CR.11 pipe straightener for Interpipe and a 10-roll high precision straightener for TMK’s Sinara plant, which will process diameters ranging from 16 to 125mm. Lastly, Bronx/Taylor-Wilson is in the process of manufacturing another series 6.CR.11 pipe straightener for the TMK WITELS-ALBERT, Germany, is involved in the design and manufacture of an advanced range of rolls, straightening machines and associated equipment. This equipment is used to guide, straighten, preform, postform and feed process materials. The company has a wealth of knowledge covering all aspects of the straightening and transportation of process materials geared to the latest applications. Witels-Albert aims to use its expertise to ensure the straightening process is treated as an independent sub-process, which is influenced by upstream and downstream processes. The company believes that pay- off froma reel and feeding are sub-processes that can have a positive or negative impact on the straightening process. There are process interfaces at the feed and delivery points of a straightening unit or system, while the interface parameters can be objectively identified.

Seversky plant, to process diameters ranging from 168 to 377mm. Bronx/Taylor-Wilson’s presence in the Asian market includes over 90 installations for customers like BAO Steel and Chengdu and Tajin Pipe. Among the most recent shipments were to Baoshan Steel for a 339.7mm API pipe testing machine with test pressures over 140 MPA. BTW also received a contract for a series 6.CR.9 machine for Baoshan Steel casing and line heat treatment workshop straightening high yield API pipe at diameters up to 194.46mm, with wall thickness at 15mm. The machine will be an in-line operation at temperatures above 600°C. BTW recently installed an API series 6.CR.11 hot straightener for Baoshan Steel that will specialise in straightening high yield API pipe at diameters up to 431.8mm with wall thickness at 31.8mm. This machine is also an in-line operation, with hot pipe at temperatures above 600°C. These installations are part of a complete pipe making facility which also include two more API Bronx/Taylor-Wilson pipe straighteners, a BTW 406mm rotary pipe straightener and a BTW 610mm pipe end facing installation. The worldwide presence of Bronx/Taylor- Wilson has also reached as far as the continent of Australia, with approximately 20 installations. Technical features include PO position counters that ensure defined and reproducible settings for straightening rolls, and the CS semi-automatic tube straightener adjustment system. The CS Easy IV roll straightener, which is used to process 5-15mm tube, can generate defined roll settings at the press of a key. Customers have to supply top quality process materials and products, which can be produced at low cost within tight tolerances using stable processes so it is vital that guiding, preform, postform, straightening and feeding processes are seen as more than ancillary processes.
