Grinding and polishing machines from India

GRIND Master manufactures a wide range of centreless machines, from low cost LMCL models with fixed vertical belt heads to sophisticated FH series used by stainless steel tube, hard chrome bar and hydraulic cylinder makers. Various models are offered for heavy grinding, high stock removal jobs to super finishing applications to achieve 0.05 micron Ra. The machines are modular and are configured to suit individual requirements. Grind Master’s fully automatic multi- head machine for hairline finishing and bright finishing of round tubes up to 150mm diameter and 6m length is available with up to 16 polishing heads, with automatic loader/ unloader and liquid polishing compound spray system. The machine can be set up to 20m/min feed rate. Two types of polishing heads are used in this machine: cross polishing heads are pneumatically operated from the top, while longitudinal heads are perpendicular to the cross heads.

With a combination of these two heads the user can achieve a high quality bright finish. Polishing heads are provided with automatic wheel wear compensation. The company also offers an automatic polishing machine for hairline and bright finishing of square/rectangular tubes. The conveyorised machines are available with up to 14 polishing heads and throughput of up to 14m/min. The polishing head has motorised up/ down adjustment and automatic wheel

The polishing wheel has a 150mm width, allowing multiple tubes of smaller size to be polished together. Grind Master’s conveyorised belt grinding machine for descaling and finishing stainless steel flat and square bars consists of two belt grinding heads which act simultaneously, one from the top and one from the side. This allows the bar to be finished in two steps, from all four sides. The machine has a floating type belt grinding head to ensure uniform grinding finish quality, and can be offered for dry or wet grinding. Grind Master Machines Pvt Ltd – India Fax: +91 240 2376205

Superfinishing centreless grinding machine for hydraulic cylinder tubes and piston bars

ACME Manufacturing Company, USA, a designer and manufacturer of integrated centreless and robotic grinding systems and automated polishing, buffing, de-burring and grinding machines, has introduced the Acme 1210/6 coated abrasive belt centreless grinding machine system for hydraulic cylinder tubes and piston bars. The system can process steel bars (8" diameter) and DOM cylinder tubes (diameters from 1" to 12"), in lengths from 6 to 30ft. Specifications include stock removal from 0.020" to 0.030", line

speeds from 5 to 20ft per minute, grinding tolerance of ±0.0006", surface finishes of 5Ra to 15Ra, and roundness improvement and elimination of tri-lobing on the bar material. Machine features include an integrated machine base, six heavy-duty grinding heads powered by 50 HP motors, and coated abrasive belt size 12" wide x 120" long. Automatic servo controlled set up allows rapid part changeover form one diameter size to another in less than two minutes. The system has powered in feed and exit

conveyors with load and unload queue tables for automatic material handling. Other features include total machine enclosure for noise and debris containment, recirculation coolant system and filtration unit, mist collection for moisture containment, and laser gauge data collection for verification of the part diameter size.
