project with quantities of bespoke 2" soil manifolds, which were specially prefabricated off-site in the Terrain factory. This helped speed the installation process and save installation time on-site. “The plastic piping systems we provide are ideal for creating this type of bespoke product,” added Mr Turk. “They are also well-suited to today’s construction industry as they can easily adapt to suit the demands of off-site fabrication and other modern methods of construction.” Polypipe Terrain – UK Email: commercialenquiries@polypipe.com Website: www.polypipe.com Polypipe Terrain helps redevelop a piece of history

AN above-ground drainage system from Polypipe Terrain has been used on a high- profile project to transform the previous home of Arsenal Football Club into one of the most sought-after residential developments in London. Terrain drainage plastic piping products have been installed throughout ‘The Stadium’ development at Highbury Square, which now houses over 700 apartments. The project involved the retention of the Highbury Stadium’s original West Stand facade and the Grade II listed East Stand facade. New accommodation blocks were created around the old pitch area, which has been transformed into communal gardens for the residents. “We have worked on many previous high profile developments and the level of engineering expertise we have brought to these projects has often been an important factor in winning the contract,” commented Adam Turk, sales and marketing director of Polypipe Terrain. In addition to its standard range of above-ground soil and waste products, Polypipe Terrain also supplied the

Stainless steel pipe annealing

A DIVISION of Inductotherm Pty Ltd in Australia has recently supplied a large stainless steel pipe annealing system to major Korean corporation LS Industrial Systems Co Ltd (LG Corporation). System features include continuous or ‘length by length’ dull pipe annealing; annealing of pipe ranging in diameter from 609mm to 1,220mm with wall thickness ranging from 9mm to 25.4mm (wall thicknesses of up to 40mm can be annealed); height adjustment of induction coil and quench barrel assembly; annealing temperature of 1,100°C; production rates of over 4,000kg/hr; solid state low frequency inverter, water cooled via closed loop recirculation system; quick changeover induction coils to suit a wide range of pipe diameters; high volume water quench recirculation system; and final air blow to dry external surface of pipe. A mechanical drive system allows variable line speed and pipe rotation through the annealing system. Line speed is adjusted by means of angled drive rollers. Electrical control system automatically varies input power to suit line speed

and corresponding pipe diameters. Programmable control for a wide range of pipe sizes is standard. Inductotherm Pty Ltd – Australia Fax: +61 3 9785 3043 Email: furnaces@inductotherm.com.au Website: www.inductotherm.com.au
