End of Unit Competency

By the end of Topic 14 students will be able to explain how points are plotted and how relationships are shown on a graph.

Language Functions and Features: Describe data and/or steps to solve problems using:

● Mathematical terms ( coordinate grid, ordered pair, x-axis, y-axis, x-coordinate, y-coordinate, intersect, graph, vertex ) ● Visuals ( coordinate grids ) to support approach, solution and/or extract information ● Use observations ( notice, it appears, looks like ) and comparative language ( different from, similar to, the same ) to share results (eg. The difference between the x-axis and the y-axis is… ) ● Declarative statements to state conclusion (eg. The points intersect at…, The coordinates of the fourth vertex are.. )
