Workwear with social responsibility - internationally certified production Regardless of which product you choose from MASCOT’s assortment, we ensure that you can wear it with a clear conscience. The manufacturing conditions are continuously inspected and documented by independent international bodies. The vast majority of MASCOT’s assortment is manufactured in our own factories, which are certified according to SA 8000. SA 8000 is an internationally recognised standard in social responsibility, and it also sets requirements for subcontractors. Since the establishment of the factories in Vietnam and Laos, MASCOT has had European management and European labour standards in these factories, including health insurance, free canteen, trade unions, a high safety level and a free medical clinic for all employees. Implementation of the structured process required by SA 8000 certification has been a natural formalisation of the existing working conditions. The remaining products are manufactured in reputable factories with high levels of expertise within the product group. The factories with which MASCOT has partnership agreements are subject to annual inspections by SGS, an independent third party, which inspects everything from working conditions and job satisfaction to evacuation routes and environmental control.

The social and environmental responsibility

- a constant search for socially responsible materials and methods At MASCOT the social, environmental and economic aspects are closely linked. There must be quality in all areas. A continuous proof that we ensure quality in all processes is MASCOT’s ISO 9001 certification. ISO 9001 is a certification of our quality management system. It has – just as MASCOT – a special focus on improving the ability to consistently deliver products and services that meet customers requirements. We are continuously audited to ISO 9001 by external auditors. We have the ambition that we need to do more than just meet our customers’ requirements. We also have a responsibility to be foresighted regarding the possibilities of taking an extra step in sustainable and social conditions. Because of this, we established, as one of the first, our own production of workwear in Vietnam and Laos, so we can ensure the quality of both our products and our working conditions. The social aspect has been extremely important throughout the establishment of our own production. Naturally, we also meet the environmental requirements with recycling of residual waste, waste water treatment, etc. The products are also continuously quality assured. The workwear is labelled with Oeko-Tex ® Standard 100, a quality label that controls the threshold values for health hazardous substances in the materials. In addition, a large portion of the fabric we use in manufacturing workwear has been produced with ISO 14001. ISO 14001 is an environmental control system that guarantees controlled processes in the processing, dyeing and finishing of woven textiles. We also use recycled materials, as is the case with our CLIMASCOT ® lining. Another example is our trousers with TENCEL ® , an environmental fibre derived from trees in sustainable plantations. As a textile manufacturer, we bear a continuous responsibility to minimize the environmental impact of production. Among other things, we are very careful about selecting suppliers and we run continuous checks of our suppliers. Above all, we produce workwear of a high quality with a long lifespan - the workwear lasts a long time, and avoids unnecessary consumption of resources.

Tested to work - Both a slogan and way of working

Tested to work is not just a slogan; it is the most important company value at MASCOT. It is the way we work and the way we strategically assess things. Behind Tested to work are two main principles: first, to do things carefully and correctly based on a proven understanding and second, to have a strong focus on how the solution is relevant and easy to apply to the target group. In practice, this company value is reflected in all areas of our work. We aim to be Tested to work in all stages of production, service and appearance. We implement strict control policies from raw materials and dyeing to sewing and shipping. Suppliers, sewing factories and distributors are continuously monitored and we have stringent requirements for our partners.

Tested before production Fit and function: When we develop new workwear, the users are consulted during the course of development. We send the workwear to work with the professionals. The workwear is used for a period of time in authentic work situations and exposed to natural wear and regular washing. Everything from fit to functions are tested. The fabric: When MASCOT finds and selects fabrics it happens on the basis of a number of physical and chemical tests that are carried out on several standardised machines in MASCOT’s own laboratories in both Denmark and Vietnam. It is to ensure the quality of, for example, the products’ wear resistance, tearing and tensile strength of the raw material, purity of colour, shrinkage, stability of dimension and weight. When the final fabrics are delivered to the raw material storage, all products are screened with a powerful light in order to localise any possible loom errors prior to production.

Tested during and after production MASCOT’s quality control is extremely comprehensive and is meticulously carried out through all stages of production. In MASCOT’s Vietnam factory alone, 70 people are employed with the sole purpose of checking the quality of our products. Our quality control is 100%. Quality control is carried out after all sub-operations, an inspection is made of the final product and one more random check is made.

In 2017, we opened our new, high-tech logistics centre. Distributed over 11,000 m², MASCOT has a fully automatic high-bay storage warehouse that continuously stocks more than 4 million products. From here, high speed robots pick and pack products for customers all over the world.

Quick order processing Part of the logistics flow is also effective packing, printing and embroidery stations. The entire flow is highly automated and eliminates opportunities for errors. The lightest trousers in the assortment With a weight at only 205 g/m² this is the lightest trouser fabric quality in MASCOT’s assortment. The fabric is made from 50% cotton and 50% polyester. The high content of cotton makes the trousers comfortable, breathable and soft against the skin. Poly- ester in the material adds durability. And despite the low weight, trousers in this fabric quality have a very high durability.

Many spacious pockets The trousers are equipped with lots of pockets to store all your items: front pockets, back pockets, a thigh pocket, ruler pocket and pen pocket. One front pocket has an inner pocket suited for a phone. Alternatively, the thigh pocket has also room for a phone.

Flexible kneepad pockets with high durability The kneepad pockets are adjustable and made from durable CORDURA ® , proven to be seven times stronger than cotton. The kneepads are inserted from above and the pockets are closed with flap and hook and loop fastening, so they don’t collect dirt.

Flexibility and freedom of movement The trousers are designed to follow and support all of your move- ments. This is evident through the use of a low waist with form-cut waistband to ensure that the trousers fit correctly at the back without gaps, even when bending or squatting. The ergonomically formed trouser legs ensure that nothing tightens or bothers.

Durable seams and details Even though the fabric is lightweight, the durability is high with triple-stitched seams and other features.
