The University of San Diego softball team celebrated Military Ap– preciation day at the USD Softball Complex on March 1, 2009 with a joint USD-SDSU color guard, a live anthem singer and an honorary first pitch ceremony by current and retired military personnel. Reaching out and showing support to San Diego's soldiers is impor– tant to the USD Athletic Department. San Diego boasts one of the largest populations of active duty military in the nation. The team will continue the tradition again this year as they host Military Ap– preciation Day on March 21,2010.
