Capital Project Description: Brunswick Elementary was originally constructed in 1952 and had additions and renovations in 1959, 1978, and 1980. The current building is approximately 59,835 gross square feet with a SRC of 508. The school is operating at 143% of state rated capacity (SRC) and has an equated enrollment of 728 students. The facility houses grades Pre-kindergarten through 5th grade and has ten portable classrooms. A feasibility study was completed in October of 2019 and the Board of Education approved a recommendation for a replacement school with a SRC of 725 and nearly 91,000 GSF on the existing site, utilizing an adjacent dedicated school site to create a larger school site. The Board of Education has requested design funding in FY21 with construction funding in FY22 and FY23. The Brunswick Elementary School project is expected to receive State planning approval in May 2020. A delay in planning approval could delay the project. **The Park School portion of this project is budgeted in PR3501.
