Capital Project Description: Rock Creek School provides special education programs for Frederick County students with severe complex medical conditions and severe intellectual, physical, emotional, hearing, vision and learning disabilities from age 3 through 21. The current school, located on the same site as the Waverley Elementary School, was built in 1972 and has had no significant renovations. A feasibility study recommended that the school be replaced with a new 81,000 square foot building on another site. The Board of Education approved the Walkersville MS campus as the site for the replacement of Rock Creek School. The design phase of the project was funded in FY18. Construction has begun on the new school. It will open by July 2021. **The Park School portion of this project is budgeted in PR3501.
