Finance courses

Our finance and accounting master’s courses are designed to develop your knowledge and skills in finance and investment or accounting and finance in one year, to enable you to be ready to take on your first professional role or progress your finance career to the next level. Our Finance MSc places emphasis on real-world challenges. Modules include case studies, participative exercises, interactive lectures, group projects and sessions hosted by industry speakers. Our master is distinctive in covering the principles, tools and techniques of finance and investment, as well as how to apply them in real work situations. You will gain an in-depth understanding of finance, economics, international financial markets, statistical analysis, financial modelling and corporate finance, and how to analyse and understand up-to-the-minute financial data using our Bloomberg Suite. Our Accounting and Finance MSc provides you with an advanced understanding of financial management and the practical expertise to apply this in the real world. You will explore theories and cutting-edge finance techniques in the context of global business and develop the necessary skills and knowledge in line with financial reporting and the international accounting standards. The Banking, Economics and Finance MSc is designed for individuals who wish to develop expertise across three inter-related subject fields. This MSc will equip students with the level of knowledge and skills required for positions in the financial and banking industry as well as positions in the public sector and in consultancy services. Upon successful completion of all the PG Diploma modules, students will obtain the professional qualification Associated Chartered Banker. This course will improve your critical awareness of the issues organisations face and will enhance your communication and research skills. Bloomberg Suite Cranfield School of Management has its own Bloomberg Suite. This investment banking database is used by banking and financial institutions worldwide to enable investment decisions.

You will receive training in how to use this database, and then be able to put your learning into practice by undertaking research, analysing data and applying modelling techniques to the data. You will be able to empirically test the knowledge, ideas and theoretical concepts you learn in the classroom using the database.

Academic staff Our faculty are renowned in their field, with broad industry experience. They work with operating boards of numerous global businesses, ensuring that their lectures are contemporary and stimulating. They are supported by a team of visiting speakers and professors from around the world.

Dr Nemanja Radić, Senior Lecturer in Finance, Course Director, Finance MSc Nemanja's work focuses on modelling efficiency and competition in the financial services industry, shareholder value and risk management, and monetary policy. He is the author of a number of refereed journal articles in finance and economics. His work on the investment banking efficiency and shareholder value creation won the International Finance and Banking Society (IFABS) 2011 Best Young Researcher Award. Nemanja has also successfully attracted several research grants and presented his work at a number of highly rated international conferences. Professor Yacine Belghitar, Professor of Finance, Course Director, Accounting and Finance MSc Yacine is a Professor of Corporate Finance and Head of the Finance and Accounting Group. Before coming to Cranfield School of Management, Yacine taught and did research at Middlesex and Durham Universities. He has successfully supervised and externally examined several Doctoral students and is an independent advisor on corporate financial strategy and governance. Dr Lakshmy Subramanian, Lecturer in Financial Economics and Course Director of Sustainable and Digital Banking (Retail) MSc Banking and Economics Lakshmy has a background in economics and management. Her research interests include financial inclusion, emerging trends in in banking, FinTech and implications for inequality, and sustainability and banking. Lakshmy has a keen interest in frontier markets and has worked on research projects in Asian and African countries. She has over 15 years of academic and industry experience and has contributed to paper publications, training and workshops, and conference presentations.
