Notes from the Council

Hooray!! Fall is here, and it is time for apple cider, raking leaves, cooler nights, and a quieter Island. Enjoy! As we prepare for the winter please think about your friends and neighbors for whom the cold weather and resulting heating bills are a very real challenge. The Council-sponsored Fuel Assistance Program needs your help. Please make donating to the Fuel Fund part of your “getting ready for winter” routine. Every little bit helps. We are all in this together.

The Recompense Fund Annual Report will be published in November. Please remember all donations will be matched by the Raymond Family Foundation in this second year of a four-year $250,000 grant. Recompense encourages our donors to first contribute to their favorite local charity. The Wellness Center with Paula Favreau, RN, Is Open for Blood Draws, Blood Pressure Checks, PT/INR Testing, Medication Setup, Flu Shots, Dressing Changes, Suture Removal, Wellness Checks, and Health Information No appointment needed.

The Foot Doctor, Dr. Rybka, is coming to Chebeague on Wednesday, October 3 from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. Call 829-6463 for an appointment. Walk-ins are also welcome.
