mittee of the Oireachtas on the Courts of Justice Act, 1924, was considered, and it was resolved that the Minister for Justice be requested to receive a deputation from the Council who would submit to him the suggestions contained in the report of the Special Committee. CENTRAL LAND REGISTRY. Mr. J. Travers Wolfe, T.D., on 22nd April, gave notice in the Dail of the following question to the Minister for Justice : To ask the Minister for Justice if he is aware of the very great delay now occurring in the Central Office of the Land Registry and the grave inconvenience and expense arising therefrom ; if he can state (a) how many copies of folios now lie in the office awaiting " writing up " ; (b) up to what date all transfers lodged for registration have been completed, and what steps (if any) are proposed to be taken to remedy the delay which at present exists. The Minister for Justice, on 29th April, replied as follows : I am aware that there are certain arrears at present in the Central Office of the Land Registry. The figures asked for are as follows : (a) The arrears of copy folios and other documents bespoken up to the 27th instant total 511 ; (b) all transfers lodged for registration have been com– pleted up to the 15th March last. The necessary steps by way of addition to the staff and overtime have been taken to have all arrears of work cleared off within about two months.

HALF-YEARLY GENERAL MEETING. The May Half-yearly General Meeting of the members of the Society will be held in 45 Kildare Street, Dublin, on Monday, 18th May, at half-past two o'clock, p.m.

Letters were read from members, drawing attention to the delay in the work of the Central Land Registry. It was decided to request Mr. J.
