MEETING OF THE COUNCIL.

Mr. Black was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1881, and practised as a member of the firm of Messrs. C. & J. Black, at 13 Donegall Square, Nth., Belfast. He was an extra– ordinary member of the Council from 1905 to 1918. __ MR. THOMAS W. WRIGHT, Solicitor, died on the 4th February, 1932, at Southsea. Mr. Wright was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1881, and practised as a member of the firm of Messrs. Thomas R. Wright & Son, at Clonakilty, up to 1921, when he retired. MR. JAMES BINCHY, Solicitor, died on the 19th February, 1932, at his residence, " Gortskagh," Charleville, County Cork. Mr. Binchy was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1887, and practised at Charleville up to 1923, when he retired. MR. MICHAEL PURCELL, Solicitor, died on the 20th February, 1932, at Macroom. Mr. Purcell was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1887, and practised at Macroom. MR. EDWARD CONDELL, Solicitor, died on the 23rd February, 1932, at his residence, 6 Frankfort Avenue, Rathgar, Dublin. Mr. Condell was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1896, and practised as a member of the firm of Messrs. D'Alton & Co., at 11 St. Stephen's Green, Dublin, up to 1929, when he retired.

4th February. Twenty-four Members present. The late Sir George Roche.

The Council passed a resolution expressing deep regret at the death of Sir George Roche, a past President of the Society, and the sympathy of the Council with the family in their bereavement. Revenue Certificate. The President reported that as a result of representations made by him at the request of the Council the form of certificate to be given on assessing of duty in cases of voluntary transfers and conveyances has been amended so as to include the Solicitor as a person eligible to sign such certificate. Landlord and Tenant Act, 1931. The President reported that he had been consulted by the Minister for Justice as to regulations to be made under Section 7, and that he had made suggestions for amend– ments in draft regulations, which had been accepted. ____ OBITUARY. MR. CHARLES W. BLACK, Solicitor, died on the 1st February, 1932, at his residence, Glen Ebor, Strandtown, Belfast.
