Canyons uses MI in secondary grades Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is a practice of providing high quality instruction, using data to make decisions about instruction, interventions for students that is based upon the students’ performance, and providing multiple levels of support for both academic and behavior standards Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based system that helps define the key components of a well-managed classroom Providing Educators Access to Knowledge and Support (PEAKS) is Canyons’ new teacher induction program using teacher leaders to serve as mentor and and coach to new teachers in their first three years of teaching Playworks is a recess-based program that is designed to ensure that students feel included, are active, and have opportunities to build valuable social and emotional skills Progress Monitoring (PM) is a procedure that involves frequent measurement of student performance for the purpose of evaluating a student’s growth toward a targeted objective. For example, the trajectory of reading growth can be measured by weekly administration of R-CBM spoken language.
