order of business each day.” 1 I agree; only, bring your day under the covering of the kingdom of God through prayer. As you pray, present to God the people, problems, events, and situations which are in your prioritized list for the day. Pray for your specific plans as well as for those thoughts that interrupt you unexpectedly. At times, you will feel certain impressions about coming events which you may feel you should rearrange. Learn to trust these thoughts that come to you in prayer; it is prob- ably the Holy Spirit guiding you. Listen for God’s guid- ance, and then obey. In this sense, you are “awakening the dawn.” You are bringing your day under the authority and blessing of the Almighty. This is administration by prayer; it should be the specialty of every Christian. It is certain that Jesus regarded personal prayer a priority. His life and ministry were shaped by the time manage- ment concept in Isaiah 50:4, 5. He was given wisdom and insight, and He learned how to minister successfully to the weary. His spiritual sensitivities were awakened; He was enabled to perceive the will of God and to persevere even when it became deleterious to Himself. All of this sprang out of His daily awakening into the presence of His Father. When Jesus told His disciples in the Sermon on the Mount to “seek first the kingdom,” He was sharing His very own lifestyle. More Treasures from the Closet In the last chapter, I shared three secrets of prayer which God has made real to me through early morning prayer. I would like to share some more with you now.
