Royal foodART

Dear guests, customers and partners of Leonardo Royal Hotel Munich,

Every year, Leonardo Royal Hotel Munich invites people to take part in a creative competition. In previous years, the competition has always revolved around creating a work of art. This year, we've again taken a new approach, inviting clients and partners to take part in our »Royal foodART« recipe competition. We accepted recipe submissions in various categories on the theme of »Summer & BBQ«, and were overwhelmed by the quantity and quality of the recipes received. We are thrilled to be able to present the best and tastiest recipes from our customers and partners in this cookbook. The cookbook contains an eclectic range of dishes: original creations, tried-and-tested recipes from well-known professional chefs that are now favourites – and some even shared old family recipes. There are some real culinary artists hidden among our customers, but this book is primarily by people who simply love to cook - for the likeminded. So we hope you'll understand if a wrong quantity or instruction has slipped through the net in one or the other recipe, or if someone has fallen back on an already published recipe. We wanted to create a collection of favourite dishes that all have one thing in common: they can easily be used for a barbecue evening on the terrace or in the garden, regardless of whether you're a beginner or an expert. With this cookbook, you're also making a contribution: the costs for the book's production are being covered by Leonardo Royal Hotel Munich and a number of sponsors. The proceeds from its sale are going to Make-A-Wish Germany, a charitable organisation that we have been helping for some time now. Thank you to everyone who has supported this charity project by sending in a recipe or by buying this book! You are all helping to fulfil the heartfelt wishes of critically ill children. We would especially like to thank star chef Maximilian Moser, chef of the Aubergine gourmet restaurant in Starnberg. Our former sous chef managed to cook his way to a Michelin star at the Aubergine in 2014 and has kept it ever since. He immediately agreed to add to our charity project with one of his own recipes. He shares his recipe for »US Beef flank steak with green tomato relish and smoked potato espuma« exclusively here. Our kitchen team cooked all the dishes which were then photographed. Thank you very much to the entire team of the Leonardo Royal Hotel Munich for the fantastic realization of the photo shooting!

We hope you have lots of fun and success with your cooking, and enjoy some absolutely fantastic barbecue evenings with the recipes from »Royal foodART«!

Yours, Stephan Löwel General Manager | Leonardo Royal Hotel Munich
