Hoffnung, Kraft und Lebensfreude für lebensbedrohlich erkrankte Kinder. Make-A-Wish® Deutschland e.V. erfüllt lebensbedrohlich erkrankten Kindern und Jugendlichen im Alter zwischen drei und 18 Jahren ihren lang ersehnten Wunsch und schenkt ihnen und ihren Familien glückliche und unvergessliche Augenblicke. Der komplett durch Spenden finanzierte Verein ermöglicht es schwerstkranken Kindern wie Leon (5), innige Wünsche zu erfüllen und Träume wahr werden zu lassen: einmal Feuerwehrmann sein. Der kleine Feuerwehr-Fan, der unter einem seltenen Immundefekt leidet, erlebte als Einsatzleiter für einen Tag, wie es ist, eine echte Uniform zu tragen oder im Feuerwehrauto zum Einsatz zu fahren. Zusammen mit der Freiwilligen Feuerwehr Eisenach-Stadtfeld erfüllte Make-A-Wish® dem Kleinen seinen größten Traum. »Es war ein unvergesslicher Tag und Leon will die Uniform gar nicht mehr ausziehen!« sagte Leons Mutter ganz gerührt in einer Zeitungsannonce, mit der sie sich bei allen Beteiligten für die Wunscherfüllung bedankte. Der gemeinnützige Verein mit Sitz in München wurde im Juni 2008 gegründet und ist als eine von 39 Landesorganisationen der Make-A-Wish Foundation® International Teil eines Netzwerks mit herausragender Reputation. Im Jahre 1980 gründet eine Gruppe engagierter ehrenamtlicher Helfer, die den Wunsch des kleinen Christopher (7), einmal Polizist zu sein, in Erfüllung gehen ließ, den Verein. Die Organisation erfüllt heute weltweit alle 21 Minuten einen Kinderwunsch. Während sich die Make-A-Wish Foundation® of America mittels ihrer 65 Ortsverbände den Wünschen von Kindern aus den USA, Guam und Puerto Rico annimmt, erfüllt die Make-A- Wish Foundation® International die Wünsche von Kindern durch ihre Landesorganisationen. Durch die großartige Unterstützung der Spender und Kooperationspartner sowie der weltweit mehr als 32.000 ehrenamtlichen Helfer, konnte die Make-A-Wish Foundation® seit Gründung mehr als 334.000 Kindern ihre Wünsche erfüllen. Make-A-Wish Germany – Hope, strength and joy for critically ill children Make-A-Wish® Germany fulfils the long-yearned-for wishes of critically ill children and teens between the ages of 3 and 18 and grants them and their families happy, unforgettable moments. The organisation, which is funded entirely through donations, makes it possible for severely ill children to fulfil their deepest wishes and have their dreams come true: like Leon (5), a fireman for a day. The little fire brigade fan, who suffers from a rare immune deficiency, experienced what it's like to be an officer-in-charge, wear a real uniform and drive to an incident in a fire engine. Make-A-Wish® fulfilled the little one's biggest dream together with the Eisenach-Stadtfeld volunteer fire brigade. »It was an unforgettable day and Leon never wants to take the uniform off!« Leon's mother commented emotionally in a newspaper advert she placed thanking everyone involved in making the wish come true. The www.makeawish.de charity was founded in June 2008 with headquarters in Munich and is one of 39 national organisations in the Make-A-Wish Foundation® International, a network with an excellent reputation. The organisation was founded in 1980 by a group of committed volunteers who made seven-year-old Christopher's wish of being a policeman for the day come true. Worldwide, the organisation fulfils a child's wish every 21 minutes. While the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of America takes on children's wishes from across the USA as well as Guam and Puerto Rico through its 65 local associations, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® International fulfils children's wishes through its national organisations.
