The Langham, London was the first hotel to serve afternoon tea, invented by the Duchess of Bedford in 1840.
Palm Court has grand high ceilings and when the hotel first opened it had a glass roof! The Langham, London is renowned for its excellent tea service and has fully trained Tea Sommelier’s who can help you pick your perfect tea.

In 1865, HRH Prince of Wales opened the doors of The Langham and arrived in a horse drawn carriage named a Landau. In Charles Dickens’ London Guide printed in 1879, he noted that the most expensive meal in London was at The Langham! The Langham was once part of the BBC, and Roux at The Landau was part of its private club that hosted many famous TV personalities and DJs.
