When it comes to embracing green space, Brodhead is truly the best place. Cast a line, ride the trails, paddle the river, and explore waterways less traveled. There are ample opportunities for your adventurous soul. Brodhead’s gift to locals and visitors is the exceptional Pearl Island Recreational Corridor. The map on page 44 will guide you to parking, landing piers, bridges, picnic spots, and parks. The 23-mile Sugar River Trail begins downtown at the trailhead. A short hike or bike ride leads the way to the scenic and historic Clarence Covered Bridge.

When it comes to community spirit, Brodhead Chamber of Commerce leads the way. New last year in honor of Brodhead Chamber’s 75th anniversary was Family Fest in June. Family Fest will be back this year withmusic, food, games for kids, and fireworks. It all happens at Putnam Park. Consider yourself invited for the annual Covered Bridge Days in August. There truly is something for everyone – with live music, tractor pulls and shows,

pontoon rides on the mill race, and the juried Wild Flower Art Festival. Nothing kicks off the holiday season better than Brodhead’s Fire and Ice Festival in early December. Watch as chainsaw artists turn big blocks of ice into sculptures. The festival features a lighted parade, fun contests for kids and adults, carriage rides, and holiday shopping of course. Downtown Brodhead is home to a thriving business district with plenty of spots to sip, savor, and shop. Stop inand say hi to Tracy, thenewowner at "The Bar" (formerly M&J's Bar). A circa 1880 factory has been converted to production space and a store for 608 The Factory – featuring home goods and gifts. There’s also 608 The Market – with handpicked vendors offering new and vintage home décor, repurposed furniture and more. The Brodhead Business Center (located in a recently renovated historic building) already has several businesses in place, with additional retail and office space for lease. Community gatherings often take place downtown at Veteran’s Park. A popular Sunday evening Twilight in the Park concert series offers up a variety of musical genres. A visit to Ten Eyck Orchard must be on your list for family fun. Starting in late summer, you'll find apples and honey and other seasonal favorites – like apple cider donuts and hand pies.
