SPECIALITY FITNESS CLASSES Beyond our drop in classes that are included in membership, we have added some new fitness activities to explore. Classes below require participants to pre-register and pay the additional fee.

INTRO TO YOGA: BASICS FOR BEGINNERS Have you always wanted to try yoga, but have been too nervous to walk into an established class? Start with this laid-back introductory workshop. You will be intro- duced to breath work, fundamental poses, sequences, and terminology. Instructed by an experienced yoga teacher. No experience necessary; all levels welcome.

KICKBOXING FITNESS - INTERMEDIATE A continuation of Kickboxing Fitness – Basics. Build on what you’ve learned and progress into more advanced martial arts and boxing movements. Strength, endurance, speed, and power will progress as well as your body uses this cross-training method to improve your physical and mental well-being. Participants must provide their own gloves. Pre-requisite: Kickboxing Fitness – Basics. Community Center Studio Day Dates Time Cost Code BARRE BASICS The instructor will discuss and demonstrate proper form to prevent injury and maximize results. She will explain the benefits of Barre, in general and in regard to specific exercises. Participants will be encouraged to ask questions, practice form, and will get individualized feedback. Bring water and wear comfortable form-fitting clothing. No experience necessary; all levels welcome. Community Center Studio 1 Day Dates Time Cost Code Sun Jan. 6 10 - 11:30 a.m. $15 FIT 106 Registration deadline: One week prior to start date EXCERISE FOR PEOPLE WITH PARKINSON'S DISEASE Research shows that regular physical exercise helps people with Parkinson’s Disease reduce stiffness; regain mobility; improve gait, posture, and balance; strengthen muscles; and manage other symptoms. Cardiovascular movement, resistance training, cognitive exercises, and social experiences will give participants the confidence to continue a full and active life. This class is designed for people with Parkinson’s, though anyone with a movement disorder is welcome. Support persons may attend at no cost. KICKBOXING FITNESS - BASICS Kickboxing Fitness Basics combines and modifies martial arts and boxing techniques and movements into an exercise program in a safe, effective and non-combative manner.
