Bottled at Cask Strength, this remarkable Rye reveals its true raw spirit with hints of spice coupled with a touch of malty sweetness, followed by a long smooth finish. The Pine Barrens preserve protects the Magothy aquifer that formed over 21,000 years ago when the glaciers receded forming Long Island and created one of the purest water sources in the Unites States. These pure waters also are iron free making them ideally suited for producing the world’s finest whisky. Pine Barrens Single Malt Whiskey 95PF / 375ml Pine Barrens uses a finished 10% ABV barley wine English styled Ale Beer that has a high hop count of 70 IBU’s. The Ale beer is traditionally brewed, double pot distilled, and aged in petite new American Oak casks to mellows out this little gem and achieve an incredibly high quality whisky. The result is spicy, rich velvet smooth maltiness, sweet hints of nutmeg, cinnamon, and caramel qualities on the finish. Pine Barrens Cherrywood Single Malt Whisky 95PF / 375ml Master distiller Rich Stabile brews English style Barley Wine Ale, a heavily hopped hearty brew, then double distills in copper pot stills to create Pine Barrens American Single Malt Whisky. With this new Cherrywood Pine Barrens, the malts used in the brew are soaked over Cherrywood to add an additional layer of flavor prior to the fermentation process. Surrounded by over 5,000 acres of potato farms, the distillery is located on the North Fork of Long Island, in the heart of the acclaimed wine region. Rough Rider Straight Bourbon Whiskey 90PF / 750ML Aged for a minimum of two years prior to additional maturation in French Oak casks (Merlot & Chardonnay) that have been rinsed with high proof brandy to allow the Bourbon to take on a new character which adds depth and complexity with a hint of fruit such as blackberry and currant. Floral to the nose with an incredibly smooth, well-rounded sweet flavor. 94pts Great Value/Excellent, Ultimate Spirits Chall. 2016 Rough Rider “The Happy Warrior” Cask Strength Bourbon 114PF / 750ML Happy Warrior fills barely a few hundred cases per batch. This straight bourbon whisky is aged for a minimum of four years prior to additional maturation in French Oak casks (Merlot & Chardonnay) that have been rinsed with high proof brandy. When ideal flavor and balance are achieved, it is hand-bottled straight from cask at 114 proof. Complex hints of caramel, vanilla and with a wonderful warm finish. Rough Rider Bull Moose Three Barrel Rye Whiskey 90PF / 750ML Aging in three types of casks adds complexity and richness. It begins in New American Oak for spicy, sweet cinnamon flavors. Next it is moved to straight bourbon casks where rye and bourbon flavors get to know each other.
