ABSINTHE / PASTIS / ANISETTE

LA MUSE ARTEZ, FRANCE In February 2002, a meeting with Absinthe producer Jean Michel Berneau led to a common friendship, philosophy, values and passion and finally the purchase of his business in April of the same year. La Muse Verte French Absinthe Traditionelle 136PF / 750ML Estate-grown, freshly cut organic Grande Absinthe (wormwood) is infused in alcohol minutes after harvest. Star anise, lemon balm, sage, fennel, hyssop and other botanicals are separately infused and added to the Grande Absinthe infusion for the final blend. La Muse Verte is bottled without sugar, synthetic anise, preservatives or artificial color and is the only absinthe made with totally fresh cut organic absinthe leaves. The black bottle protects this all natural absinthe. “It’s one of the rare absinthe on the market with a historical alcohol content of 68%.” 97pts Extraordinary 2013 Ultimate Spirits Challenge LEOPOLD BROTHERS DENVER, COLORADO Leopold Brothers is an award-winning, small-batch distillery in Denver, where Todd and Scott Leopold are bringing oldworld methods to craft spirits with rich, complex results. Leopold Brothers hand-crafts artisanal products from their state of the art, fully sustainable eco-distillery. Leopold Bros. Absinthe Verte 130PF / 750ML Created following the traditions of 19th Century European master distillers, this is a clean, straightforward and refreshing absinthe: pale straw yellow-green liquid with a wallop of licorice aroma and flavor and medium body. Adding ice water coaxes out more complex lime and cinnamon scents, as well as lemon, orange and anise notes on the finish. “Excellent Absinthe” Wormwood Society Silver Medal International Wine & Spirits Competition

MARIE BRIZARD BORDEAUX, FRANCE The oldest French liqueurs house, has been bold since its beginning in 1755 in Bordeaux. A young female visionary, Marie Brizard created the legendary Anisette, a secret recipe that has been carefully guarded for 260 years. Today Marie Brizard® is a staple in over 100 countries. Marie Brizard Anisette 50PF / 750ML Best seller of the Marie Brizard line. An exclusive recipe handed down from generation to generation uses green anise from the high plains of the Mediterranean and more than 10 other plants, fruits and spices, to create a blend of natural aromas and flavors of the South and the Orient. 93pts “Best Buy” “Top 50 Spirits 2014”, Wine Enthusiast 91pts The Tasting Panel 5 Stars Highest Recommendation Spirit Journal PAOLUCCI ITALY Produced since 1873 by Italy’s Paolucci family according to traditional methods. Whether you prefer traditional clear or the Black Sambuca, Paolucci Sambuca will satisfy the most sophisticated palate. Paolucci Sambuca White Liqueur 84PF / 750ML This clear Sambuca is made from the essential oils of star anise and elderberry, with an appropriate sweetness. “Best Buy” Wine Enthusiast Paolucci Sambuca Black Liqueur 80PF / 750ML This family recipe is distilled from a unique blend of ingredients including anise, elderberries, elderflower and sugar. A deliciously smooth finish with intense flavors. Paolucci Black Sambuca uses the essential oils of licorice and Witch Elder Bush to impart its rich flavor, but with a drier finish. ST. GEORGE SPIRITS CALIFORNIA Since St. George Spirits was founded in 1982, they’ve grown from a dedicated eau-de-vie distillery into a diverse operation that makes a range of craft spirits. AGAVE MEZCAL

Don Amado Mezcal Reposado 80PF / 750ML

DON AMADO MEXICO The renowned Arellanes family has been crafting one of the region’s most celebrated mezcals since the 1700s. 11 generations with a commitment to craftsmanship and experimentation have culminated in a spirit that is complex while approachable. Earthen-roasted agave hearts are fermented together with their piña fibers after crushing for a rich agave character. The mash is then double-distilled in small traditional ceramic clay pots. Aged varieties are matured in American oak casks previously used for barreling Pedro Domecq brandy. Don Amado Mezcal Añejo 80PF / 750ML A regal take on what many consider a rustic product. Savory, mesquite aromas hint at a backyard BBQ and cayenne pepper. These flavors flow between layers of baked stonefruit from the brandy barrels. Notes of grilled pineapple and finish with bright saline minerality. Don Amado Mezcal Pechuga 92PF / 750ML A treasure of complexity that exhibits rich, bright fruit notes, roasted nuts, dark baking spice, wafting hints of clean smoke, fresh cinnamon and stone fruits. Mature agave flavors are woven throughout, maintaining symmetry, balance and depth. FIDENCIO MEXICO, OAXACA Embodying the tradition and creativity of Oaxaca. With four generations of knowledge and the finest estate grown agave, Fidencio is a unique mezcal that is pure agave. Using 100% Espadín agave let to mature at least 10 years. Fidencio Joven Clasico Mezcal 88PF / 750ML Distilled twice in a traditional, wood fired, Alembic still, very similar to the stills used in Cognac. After the second distillation, we add a touch of water, and bottle. Fidencio Mezcal Joven Unico 88PF / 750ML Mexico- Made from 100% agave and double distilled. Earthy and slightly fruity on the palate, with mineral, smoke, and dried herbs, with a consistent fruit and agave undertone. MINA REAL MEXICO Mina Real Mezcal is an ecologically-sustainable mezcal made with agave slowly cooked in a brick kiln without the consumption of firewood. Their steaming method highlights the plants’ bright floral bouquet without burning an industry average of 3.5 lbs of firewood per liter produced. Mina Real Mezcal Blanco 92PF / 750ML Utilizing a combination of both modern and historical technique, the agave honeys for Mina Real are fermented intact with their crushed agave piña fibers, followed by a double distillation in copper alembic stills for pronounced earthiness and character. Mina Real Mezcal Reposado 84PF / 750ML Mina Real Mezcal Reposado is distilled from 100% agave espadín grown in Oaxaca. Real de Minas Distillery in Santa Catarina Minas steam-roasts the agave, saving wood and keeping the piñas (hearts) un-charred. It’s twice distilled in ceramic pot stills and ages in used American white oak casks for an undisclosed time.

Familiar Mexican aromas and tastes: roasted buttered corn, hints of cinnamon, tropical fruit, and dried chilies with a moderate amount of smoke. Barrel-aging contributes spicier, more vanilla-driven notes. Don Amado Mezcal Rústico 94PF / 750ML Minero clay influence is quite prevalent with aromatics of ash, crushed walnuts, roasted corn, and spices. Ctrusy espadin agave palate is well balanced against notes of caramel, butterscotch and herbs. Don Amado Mezcal Arroqueño 92PF / 750ML Rustic, refined, revealing floral aromatics with caramelized agave, leather and soft smoke notes lending structure to cooked yam flavors. Mouthfeel delivers quince, persimmon, lemon verbena and kaffir, with layers of

chocolate, espresso and spice. Don Amado Mezcal Largo 92PF / 750ML

Soft smoke with candied notes and a creamy mouthfeel layer fruit and a subtle spice on a palette of rich, cooked agave… reminiscent of the high desert just after a heavy rainfall, bright and clean.

PALENQUEROS MEXICO, OAXACA Mezcal Palenqueros showcases the craft of different maestro distillers (master distillers) from single palenque’s (distilleries) across Oaxaca, Mexico in a range of still proof Mezcales. Palenqueros Alberto Espadin Madrecuishe 106PF / 750ML Madrecuishe is made by maestro mezcalero Don Alberto “Beto” Ortiz, who is renowned for his beautiful distillation and has become a legend in the area. Complex with notes of lemon, mandarin, ginger, lemon, pineapple, and honey. Palenqueros Omar Nolasco Espadin Mezcal 110PF / 750ML Palenqueros Espadin is made by maestro mezcalero Omar Nolasco in San Luis del Rio, Oaxaca. Omar represents the bright future of mezcal. He’s a young fifth generation distiller who works to preserve the traditional methods of mezcal production. Palenqueros Onofre Ortiz Ensamble Cinco Magueyes Mezcal 96PF / 750ML Palenqueros Ensamble Cinco Magueyes is made by fifth generation Maestro Mezcalero Onofre Ortiz (son of legendary mezcalero Alberto “Don Beto” Ortiz) with maguey Espadin, Mexicano, Madrecuishe, Bicuishe, and Tepeztate. This mezcal is complex with flavors of almonds, raspberries, melon, and wildflower honey. Palenqueros Valente Garcia Espadin Mexicano Bicuishe Mezcal 99PF / 750ML Palenqueros Espadin – Mexicano – Bicuishe is made by meastro mezcalero Don Valente Angel Garcia in his tiny community outside of Miahuatlan. The agaves are cooked, milled, fermented, and distilled together. Look for notes of pear, plum, ginger, coconut, licorice, and sage.

FUENTESECA MEXICO Special Release Tequilas

The Fuenteseca Reserva Extra Añejo Tequilas include the oldest bottled tequilas in the history of the tequila business. They exemplify barrel aging mastery by using assorted wood types, storage conditions, altitudes and micro-climates to mature nuanced spirits. These historical selections are made available to us by Enrique Fonseca, who began storing these legendary distillates twenty-five years ago and now periodically releases them when determined to be optimal. The newest edition, Cosecha, is 3 year rested blanco. The Fuenteseca Tequilas are also the first commercially available tequila products authorized by the CRT to carry both an agave harvest vintage date as well as a barrel aging statement.

Fuenteseca Reserva Añejo 7yr Fuenteseca Reserva Añejo 7yr 84PF / 750ML

Fuenteseca Reserva Añejo 18yr 87PF / 750ML

Produced in September 1995, 75% of this lot was distilled in copper double-column stills and 25% distilled in copper alembic stills. Aging began in Canadian white oak casks previously used to age rye whiskey and stored at 4,600’ for six years. The tequilas were then blended and re-barreled, with half left to rest in Canadian white oak Rye casks and half moved to European dark oak barrels previously used to age California red wine. The refilled casks were then moved to a cooler, breezier climate, and left to age for an additional twelve years. Fuenteseca Reserva Añejo 21yr 87PF / 750ML This lot was distilled in copper double-column stills from mostly 1984 plantings harvested in late 1993 and laid into barrel in early 1994. The casks were stored 10 years in a dry, earthen-floor room in Atotonilco el Alto, before being moved to a higher, cooler climate on the slope above the highland town, where they remained for 11 more years. Nearly all of the barrels were previously used for aging California white wine, with one barrel having been used for aging Canadian rye whiskey.

Enrique Fonseca distilled this expression in early Spring of 2010, with three-quarters of the bottling made in a double-copper column still with removed plates to achieve a lower distillation proof, and the remaining quarter made in an alembic pot still. Half of the run was then stored in American white oak previously used to age California red wine, and the remaining half barreled. Fuenteseca Reserva Añejo 11yr 83.4PF / 750ML Distilled in late winter of 2006 with two-thirds of the expression made in a double-copper column still with plates removed to achieve a lower distillation proof and the remaining third made in an alembic pot still. One third of this lot was then laid into in American white oak previously used to age California red wine, and the remaining two-thirds was barreled in used dark French Oak. The casks were then rested for the full 11 years at 3,800’ elevation in a cool-climate subterranean barrel room, with the upper-most portion of the room opened to allow for soft air circulation in order to create a drier aging environment.

AGAVE TEQUILA FORTALEZA MEXICO 100% Agave Tequila Beautiful hand-crafted, stone-milled tequila by fifth-generation Sauza family using traditional techniques, all echoing their unique heritage, authentic production process and artisan methodologies. Fortaleza is a “lowlands” tequila, made from agave that takes longer to ripen giving it a sweeter flavor. Fortaleza Blanco 80PF / 750ML 100% Agave Tequila: The Fortaleza line-up is fantastic but the Bianco shows the purity of the spirit with tons of depth. Vegetative, roasted herbs, spice, orange peel and coriander shows this is a sipper to enjoy. “Best of the Best” Best Lowland Blanco, Judge Favorite Fortaleza Blanco (Still Strength) 92PF / 750ML 100% Stone Crushed Tequila Aromas of fruit, baked fully-ripened agave, green olive, and earth are invitingly present. Slightly brighter and a touch more rustic than the regular blanco, the accents of butter, olive, earth, black pepper, and vegetal qualities in the flavor are enhanced because it comes straight from our small copper pot still, without adding water prior to bottling. For years, the only way to sample this was to visit our distillery in Tequila, Jalisco. Until now. Fortaleza Reposado 80PF / 750ML 100% Agave Tequila: Aged in barrel for up to nine months, no less than six, and is authentic tequila, the kind that would make Sauza’s ancestors proud. “Best of the Best” Best Lowland Blanco Tequila Fortaleza Añejo 80PF / 750ML 100% Agave Tequila: Aged two to three years in oak barrels and has a beautiful silky smooth character that does Añejo right: rich, but not cloyingly sweet. “Best of the Best” Best Lowland Blanco Tequila Judge

CAPPELLETTI TRENTINO ALTO ADIGE, ITALY There are not many Trentino or indeed Italian companies that can celebrate a century of uninterrupted business in the hands of the same family. Cappelletti Pasubio Vino Amaro 34PF / 750ML Amaro Pasubio is a true taste of the Dolomite Mountains in the Trentino region. On a base of rich aged wine you’ll find notes of blueberries, pine and smoke, together with bitter alpine herbs. The recipe from Giuseppe Cappelletti dates back to the early 20th century and is among the Erboristeria’s first Amari. CARDAMARO ITALY The one and only amaro based on wine and Nizza Monferrato Cardoon. Recreated from the ancient recipe from the Bosca Family. Cardamaro Vino Amaro 34PF / 750ML Producer Giovanni Bosca uses estate wine as the base for his Amari. After infusing the wine and other botanicals with cardoon and blessed thistle, the distillate rests in new oak for at least six months. 34 proof, low for typical Amari, and less bitter than many with a smooth, nutty, candied winter spice quality to it. Cardamaro is one of the most unique and interesting Amari available. An absolutely fantastic price for a high quality, delicious Amari and a perfect gateway into the world of Italian bitters. 91pts Excellent Ultimate Spirits Challenge 2016

KINDRED SPIRITS:

When it comes to brandies, nothing competes with France’s amber trio; Cognac, Armagnac and Calvados, each a pure product of its own terroir. Cognac comes from a sector of chalky soil near the town it’s named for, in the Charentes region north of Bordeaux. Armagnac’s territory lies south of the Garonne river in the Midi Pyrénées region once known as Gascony, of Musketeer fame. Made with white wine from three areas—in ascending order of excellence, Haut-Armagnac, Ténarèze and Bas Armagnac Apple orchards replace vineyards in Normandy, where calvados , familiarly called calva, was named after one of the departments in which it’s made—double-distilled from apple mash fermented with yeast. First recorded in the 16th century, calva is the basis of the trou Normand, the pause during a hearty meal for a nip —FRANCETODAY.COM
