W
e are greatly honored that Justice
John Paul Stevens
(ret.) will
be the keynote speaker at this
year’s Justice Stevens Award Luncheon on
Tuesday, October 13, in the Grand Ball-
room at the Standard Club. Justice Stevens
served as an Associate Justice of the United
States Supreme Court from 1975-2010
and is the third longest serving Justice on
the U.S. Supreme Court. Justice Stevens
resigned as The Chicago Bar Association’s
Second Vice-President in 1970 upon his
nomination to the U.S. Court of Appeals
for the Seventh Circuit. Justice Stevens was
nominated as an Associate Justice of the
U.S. Supreme Court by President Gerald
Ford on December 1, 1975 and confirmed
by the U.S. Senate on December 17, 1975.
Since his retirement from the High Court,
Justice Stevens has published the following
