SUPPORTSERVICES
The Calvin E. Bright Success Center provides academic advising and learning support services that empower students to be successful in their academic and personal development. Fiat Lux is a community of scholars and dedicated staff members who empower first-generation, income-eligible students to enhance development, growth and academic success. Degree Attainment for Returning and Transfer Scholars (DARTS) assists transfer students in acclimating to the university and locating necessary resources within it. The Success Mentor Program empowers first-year students to develop strategies and skills that will advance academic, intra- and interpersonal development through one-on-one mentoring with upper-division students. Peer Assisted Learning Support (PALS) relies on peers who collaborate to learn and teach each other to provide a less restrictive learning environment than in the classroom, increasing accessibility to knowledge and modeling learning behaviors and skills that encourage success.28 | UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, MERCED
