College and Career Acceleration Summer Institute planned
June 17-18 seminar focuses on STEM, Common Core implementation
The College & Career Acceleration Summer Institute will be held June 17-18 at
Hobart High School in Hobart, Indiana, and focus on Science, Technology,
Engineering and Math (STEM) education.
Featured speakers include:
Dr. Vince Betram, President and CEO of Project Lead the Way, who will unveil the
latest and most powerful college and career strategies for secondary school
success in STEM, as well as opportunities for school leaders to turn that
knowledge into benefits for students, schools, business partnerships and
communities.
Dr. Diane Briars, President-Elect of the National Council of Teachers of
Mathematics, who will conduct a full-day workshop titled “From Standards to
Actions: Implementing the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics”
describing the mathematical knowledge, skills, and habits of mind that students
must attain to be college and/or career ready in the 21
st
century.
Dr. Eric ban, President and Founder of the College Acceleration Network, who will
discuss how business and schools can build strategically viable partnerships
through innovation, data and professional development.
There are approximately 50 seats remaining for the institute. The cost is $250 and
