ABOU T THE AU THOR
Crystal A. Britton is an independent art critic and curator whose academic interests
embrace African American art and culture. ese interests were rst pursued on
the college level as a professor of psychology, human behavior and development,
and African American art history. Later, as the owner of the Crystal Britton
Gallery, Ms. Britton presented art exhibitions by leading African American artists,
and others. She currently lives in New York City.
