Item 3 – AOAC OMB Awards
OMB has four awards for which candidates will be discussed. There are two (2) team awards and
two (2) individual awards.
The awards are:
1. Award in Recognition of Technical and Scientific Excellence (team award)
2. Expert Review Panel of the Year (team award)
3. Technical Service Award (individual award)
4. Method of the Year (individual award)
Nominations for these awards are determined as follows:
1. Nominations for the Recognition award come from the Official Methods Board itself and will
be discussed during the meeting.
2. Nominations for the Expert Review Panel of the Year are based on ERPs that have met over
the past three (3) years (2014‐2016).
3. Nominations for the Technical Service Award are based on solicitations to the leadership of
stakeholder panels, ERPs, technical and advisory committees, Communities, and AOAC
Sections.
4. Nominations for the Method of the Year are based on the First Action or Final Action
methods reviewed during the past three (3) years (2014‐2016). Information for Method of
the Year award nominations was sent out via email on Monday, June 18, 2017.
