BRIEF SELECTION & APPLICATION TIPS:
- Measure around the hips or waist, which ever is largest.
- When sizing, remember Bigger is not Better. Better Fit = Better Containment.
- Angling the top tape tabs down and the bottom tape tabs up (as illustrated in the brief pictures below) can help strengthen the
attachment to the brief and serves to improve the fit on some residents.
BRIEF COLOUR CODING:
Attends Briefs® and Confidence Briefs are colour coded by size for an easier size recognition (except for Attends Briefs® Waistband
Style, in which all sizes are white). The poly backsheet colours are as follows:
Youth: White
Small: Blue
Medium: White
Regular: Purple
Large: Blue
X-Large: Biege
XX-Large: Green
Bariatric: Beige
BRIEF SIZING GRID:
Our unique sizing grade is also colour-coded by size, and incorporates an easy way to find the correct size information already
available. Simply take the user’s weight and height, then find the meeting point of the two numbers. This box is colour-coded to the
recommended size*. If a person weighs more than 250 pounds and has a waist size larger than 63 inches, they may fit into Attends
Breathable Briefs™ size XX-large ( which fit 63"-70") or Attends Bariatric Briefs® size XXX-large (which fit 70"-90").
*Sizing is not a perfect science, therefore the sizes given in the chart above are recommended only, not guaranteed.
WETNESS INDICATOR:
All Attends briefs have a wetness indicator on the outside of the brief that runs from the front of the brief to the back. The wet-
ness indicator can help in determining when the brief should be changed and assist with proper application of the brief.
A wetness indicator is a
convenient way to let a
caregiver know if a brief needs
to be changed. The wetness
indicator will change colour from
yellow to blue when the user
has avoided to let you know.
When applying a brief, the wetness indicator can help
a caregiver know when to position to breathe correctly.
The top of the wetness indicator on the back side of the
brief should be placed at the persons coccyx. This will
help center the brief properly, and most importantly it
will help position the brief so that there is enough
product to bring up through the groin.
