SPA hosts 'Welcome to the Profession' events
Fresh faces: Graduating students celebrated their achievements and mingled with SPA members during the
‘
Welcome to the Profession
’
brunch at James Cook University.
T
he University of Queensland
(UQ) ‘Welcome to the Profession’
event took place at Vespa Pizza,
Woolloongabba in November last year.
Attendees were treated to an ‘all you
can eat’ pizza buffet, so the pizzas just
kept coming! The event was a huge
success, with attendees leaving absolutely
satisfied (perhaps even stuffed?!) but
more importantly, with new professional
partnerships formed.
Thank you to Speech Pathology Australia
and the Branch members who joined
in welcoming us – we look forward to
working with you as official speech
pathologists!

T
he North Queensland speech
pathology community officially
welcomed the speech pathology new
graduates from James Cook University into
the profession on 26th October 2012.
Speech Pathology Australia hosted a
‘Welcome to the Profession’ brunch at
James Cook University which allowed
Speech Pathology Australia members
working in North Queensland and new
graduates to meet and celebrate the
beginning of their speech pathology
careers. It was a great opportunity for
established speech pathologists to meet the
graduates entering the profession and for
the new graduates to network and create
professional links within their new profession.
