Mealtime

If you have picked up your puppy at

eight weeks of age, he will probably

be in a routine of getting four meals

a day. In most cases, the breeder will

give you a quantity of the food he is

used to, which should last you for the

first few days.

I

t is very important to stick to the same food and

the same mealtimes, at least to begin with. A

puppy has so much to get used to as he adapts to

his new home, there is no point in risking a stomach

upset by changing his diet as well.

If you decide to change his diet, do so gradually over

a period of several days. Add a little of the new food

to begin with, increasing the amount, meal by meal,

until you have made a complete changeover.

Remember to keep a bowl of fresh drinking water

available at all times.
