Mealtime
If you have picked up your puppy at
eight weeks of age, he will probably
be in a routine of getting four meals
a day. In most cases, the breeder will
give you a quantity of the food he is
used to, which should last you for the
first few days.
I
t is very important to stick to the same food and
the same mealtimes, at least to begin with. A
puppy has so much to get used to as he adapts to
his new home, there is no point in risking a stomach
upset by changing his diet as well.
If you decide to change his diet, do so gradually over
a period of several days. Add a little of the new food
to begin with, increasing the amount, meal by meal,
until you have made a complete changeover.
Remember to keep a bowl of fresh drinking water
available at all times.
