He laid his little head against her face caressingly, peeped
and coaxed until she determined to gratify him.
But no sooner had Dicky tasted the brandy than he flew into
a violent passion, shook his head, stamped his feet and beat his

into his cage and would neither come out nor notice Mary all
day long.
Who shall say that that little bird was not right and that
Mary should have sought other medicine.
