my acquaintance whom I knew to be too fond of ardent
spirits, sitting upon a doorstep, quite exhausted from a
daring feat he had been performing. On his knee were two
strong door knockers, three bell pulls, and part of an. area rail–
ing, all of which he had drunkenly taken into custody.
