Jaguar has been at the forefront of aluminium car construction for more than a decade and continues to
push the boundaries of this technology. XE is based on our Lightweight Aluminium Architecture, which uses
expertise derived from the aerospace industry to deliver premium vehicle characteristics in performance and
refinement. This immensely strong bodyshell uses a high strength 6000 series aluminium alloy. Saving weight
without compromising durability, it provides very high torsional stiffness, supporting precise handling. It helps
achieve optimum weight distribution approaching 50:50. The lightweight structure not only reduces fuel
consumption and CO
2
emissions, it means that the XE range is able to encompass everything from as low as
109*-111g/km to a maximum speed of up to 250km/h.
