LakeCopperConductors,amanufacturer
of bare copper wire, is to expand its
operations with the investment of $3.4
million to lease and equip a new 90,000
ft2
facility in Elkhart, Indiana, that will
specialize in drawing thin copper wire.
“Creating an environment that encour-
ages growth is essential to Indiana’s
economic success,” said Mitch Roob,
Secretary of Commerce and chief
executive officer of the Indiana
Economic Development Corporation.
“LakeCopper Conductors’commitment
to grow in Indiana is yet another
indication that the Hoosier state offers
a skilled workforce, unmatched infras-
tructure and a competitive business
climate.”
Lake Copper Conductors currently
employs 28 associates in Indiana,
and expects to create a further 23 jobs.
Lake Copper Conductors, formerly Lake
Cable of Elkhart, LLC, was founded
in 2009 by William Runzel IV to produce
conductors in the transportation, energy
and heavy machinery industries.
The company is headquartered in
Bensenville, Illinois, and operates two
Indiana facilities in Elkhart and Valparaiso.
