RELIEF VALVES
RELIEF VALVE ADAPTER
Relief valve adapters are used when the NH3 hose assembly remains
on the toolbar instead of the nurse tank. Install the adapter between
the NH3 quick coupler and the NH3 hose assembly. Install a ¼ inch
hydrostatic relief valve (A400 or A1325) into
the relief valve adapter to provide vapor relief to
the NH3 hose assembly in excessive pressure sit-
uations.

VAPOR RELIEF VALVES
Vapor relief valves are safety valves
designed to open when tank pres-
sure rises above 250 PSI. Used on
applicator, storage, and nurse
tanks, they will protect tanks, pip-
ing or hose from excessive pressure
caused by overfilling or fire. Relief
valves should be replaced 5 years
after the date of manufacture
which is stamped on the valve.

BLEEDER VALVE
The bleed valve has a T-handle and is designed
to bleed-off trapped liquid or vapor NH3 in hose
valves, couplings, and piping. Also for installation in
tanks as an 85% liquid level gauge.

RELIEF VALVE MANIFOLD
The A1416 relief valve manifold is used on large NH3 tanks to allow
removal of a relief valve for inspection or replacement, without the
need of evacuating the tank. Adequate relief protection is provided
by the remaining relief valve in the manifold. Bleeder valves relieve
vapor pressure under each relief valve after closing the manifold port,
and each port can be closed separately, meeting code requirements.
HYDROSTATIC RELIEF VALVE
Hydrostatic relief valves are designed to relieve
liquid pressure in valves, hoses, or piping wherein
liquid may be trapped. Pressure set at 375 PSI.
Note:
All safety relief and hydrostatic relief valves
must be changed five years after date of manufac-
ture.
