When will radiotherapy be needed?

Difficult to predict before surgery.
•
T3 and T4 cancers usually attract a
recommendation for post-operative
chest wall radiotherapy.
•
High grade PLUS nodal disease may
be offered radiotherapy
•
Close margin posteriorly or
anteriorly: careful review of imaging
as may be VERY tricky to go back
afterwards
