I am going to Kansas City, Kansas City here I come… It’s ok you can finish singing the song.

Welcome to Kansas City! KC is not just another cow town in flyover country. It is home to the

Negro Leagues’ baseball Museum, the Kansas City Jazz Museum, the Royals (2014 ALCS

Champs in case you were asleep last October), a world class performing arts center in the

Kaufman Center and the best barbeque in the world. Our crew has years of service ranging from

20 years (Rowland) to three years (Sally).

Rowland joined the Allen Lund Company 20 years ago and has been our Assistant Manager for

roughly a third of that time. You can call in bright and early most mornings and get Rowland on

the phone for some of his down home humor but be careful what you believe, he has been known

to claim that he is 4’11” and 375 pounds. He grew up in Kansas City and lives in the KC area

during the week but his home is a couple of hours south where he owns and runs a farm on the

weekends. His farm consists of what he refers to as the shack (I have seen pictures, it’s not a

shack) 80 something acres of land and a varying amount of cattle. He has a passion for hunting

and I just found out he has not missed a deer season since he turned 18.

Next up is Dave Hatten. Dave is married and lives not too far from the office. He was raised

down in Southern Missouri somewhat close to the Arkansas, Kansas, and Oklahoma lines. He is

an avid hunter and plans hunting trips to remote places well in advance. A few years ago he

spent a week or so in Wyoming hunting and had to pack his gear in on horseback. He also has a

bow-hunting trip planned for next year. Some things you may not know about Dave are that he

is a former OTR driver and when he graduated high school he hit the road working as a carney

for a relatives’ traveling carnival. Dave works as a broker here in the office and also splits some

of his time doing business development looking for new shippers and growing existing shippers.

John Trelow, where do I begin? Born and raised in the central Missouri town of Sedalia. His

hometown is the home of the Missouri State Fair. John, like the other two I just mentioned also

enjoys hunting. He is married and they have a handful of kids between them. John has been with

us for four and a half years and handles a lot of our quoting and operations work. John had a

varied work experience when he came to ALC. In his previous jobs he worked for a funeral

director and more recently in an eye bank retrieving eye tissue for transplants.
