WHEELCHAIR RUGBY EVENT
The event is open to all wheelchair users, male
and female, who would be interested in getting
involved in the sport, at a competitive level or
as a hobby.
The hosts, Ulster Barbarians Wheelchair
Rugby Club, is the only club of its type in
the province and is affiliated with the Irish
Wheelchair Association and Irish Wheelchair
Rugby. It’s a young, but extremely ambitious
club with a current membership of 12 players,
10 male and two female, from all over Ulster.
Four of the Barbarians have achieved
international honours, representing Ireland.
The club is based at Antrim Forum and training
is on Monday evenings between 7-9pm. The
team participate in the annual Irish League
and have also competed in tournaments in
Scotland and Germany. The aim is to build on
the existing success with a view to entering a
team in the Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby
League in the 2015/16 season.
As well as prospective players, the
Barbarians are also looking for volunteers
to help out. For more information please
