1 glass Rye or Bourbon Whisky.

Crush the sugar and bitters together,

add lump of ice, decorate with twist

of lemon peel and slice of orange,
% using medium size glass and stir well.

Recipe, 1899
Use a large cut-glass. Put half a
lump of cut sugar in the glass,
dampen it slightly with water and
crush well with muddler. Then put
in lemon peel on the sugar and
lump ice.
1 dash Angostura Bitters.
Brandy as required.
Stir and serve.

water, and crush well with muddler,
then put in Lemon Peel on the sugar
and the lump ice.
1 dash Peychaud or Angostura
Bitters.
1 measure Gin.
Stir and serve.
