Office Hours—

We are open Monday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m.

to 5:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As always, if

you need assistance at other times, please don’t hesitate to call (846-

3148) and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Pending Experimental Aquaculture Lease—

Great Ledge Cove

Seafood, LLC has applied to the Department of Marine Resources

for a limited-purpose (experimental) aquaculture lease to

grow sugar kelp, horsetail kelp, and winged kelp using

suspended culture on a 3.96-acre site located northeast

of Little Chebeague Island, Western Chandlers Cove,

Casco Bay, Chebeague Island. Other compatible

uses of the area would be permitted. The application

is posted on the DMR website at

www.maine.gov/ dmr/aquaculture

, under “Pending Aquaculture Lease

Applications.” The Commissioner announces a public

comment period for this application. A public hearing

is required only if requested in writing by five (5) or more

interested persons prior to the comment deadline.

The deadline

for comments and hearing requests is August 14, 2017.

Transfer Station—

The Transfer Station is open Monday and

Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.; Wednesday and Friday from

1:30 to 5:00 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00

p.m.

As always, the Transfer Station is closed on Tuesday and

during graveside services at the cemetery.

Please remember

that this is a

pay-as-you-throw facility

.

We don’t charge for

household trash, but we do charge for bulky waste that has to

be transported in our construction and demolition containers.

Fees are posted at the Transfer Station. There is free non-

commercial disposal during Bulky Waste weekend

(August 5 and 6).

Bulky Trash and Hazardous Waste

Weekend—

We will hold our Bulky Trash and

Hazardous Waste Weekend on August 5 and 6 from

9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please watch for posters that

describe what you can bring to the Town Garage for

disposal.

Volunteer Opportunities—

We have one vacancy on the

Planning Board

and one vacancy on the

Road Plan Committee

.

We also need two new members to fill vacancies on the

Deer

Tick Diseases Prevention Ad Hoc Committee

.
