Indian source for cold drawn
carbon/alloy steel tubes
Sainest Tubes Pvt Ltd (STPL), located in
Gujarat, India was incorporated in 1988.
The company has a manufacturing
capacity of 25,000 MT per annum with
total area of 22,000m
2
.
The company manufactures a wide
range of carbon/alloy steel seamless
tubes and pipes from 6 to 168mm
OD, thickness from 0.5 to 12mm, and
length up to 30m, with various quality
tests like hydro testing, eddy current
test, DPT and ultrasonic test.
U tubes are also supplied with a stress
relieved condition.
STPL caters to various tube related
applications, including the use of
heat exchangers, condensers, super
heaters, boilers, pneumatic cylinders,
hydraulic pipe line tubes and cylinders.
Bright annealed tubes for fuel injection
and for special purpose can also be
supplied. Tubes are manufactured with
various specifications and grades,
including ASTM, BS, DIN, EN, JIS and
BIS. The company has achieved QMS
– ISO/TS 16949:2009 certification
and also achieved Quality Assurance
system for Material Manufacturer
according to Pressure Equipment
Directives 97/23/EC and AD 2000 –
Merkblatt WO certification.

New weld purge monitor
Huntingdon Fusion Techniques has
introduced a new dedicated Weld Purge
Monitor.
Having developed the models MKI to
MKV in a particular style, the company
has embraced advanced technology to
create a new instrument, designated
PurgEye™100, that offers significant
advances over previous models.
Features include integrated auto-
calibration, requiring just the press of
a button to calibrate both at ambient
and at the lowest oxygen reading, and
providing instant calibration at 0.01%
O
2
. It also removes the need for monitors
to be returned to the factory for yearly
calibration.
Using a tripod mount, the monitors can
be located securely in an accessible
viewing position without having to resort
to additional clamping fixtures.
The PurgEye 100 has an algorithm in
the software to correct the reading at
low oxygen levels, to ensure accuracy
and repeatability of readings.
Most low cost oxygen monitors are
made for oxygen measurement at
breathing levels for personal safety,
rather than welding, and they are unable
to read accurately as oxygen levels
fall below the atmospheric reading of
20.94%.
When the battery life is too low to provide
sufficient power to run the PurgEye100
correctly, a battery symbol appears on
the screen to warn the operator to
change the battery. Similarly, a sensor
symbol will appear on-screen to alert
the operator to change the oxygen
sensor.

Energy-efficient systems for district cooling
District cooling is becoming increasingly
important. Utilising the waste heat
given off from numerous potential
sources of energy is a highly energy-
efficient approach that also protects
the environment. Brugg Pipe Systems
is accommodating this development
by launching an extensive system for
use in the district cooling technology
sector.
To an increasing extent, district
cooling supply networks are becoming
established as a future-oriented,
green alternative to conventional
cooling technologies. District cooling
networks can be supplied from various
sources of energy, including waste
incineration plants, industrial facilities,
combined heat and power plants or
natural sources such as water in rivers,
lakes or the sea. The use of solar
and geothermal energy for cold water
production or district cooling is also on
the increase.
With its Coolflex and Coolmant product
lines, Brugg offers a range of pipe
systems and installation components for
district cooling distribution. The flexible
Coolflex system is suitable for smaller
district cooling networks, while the rigid
Coolmant system was developed for
wide-area networks. The products take
account of the specific requirements
that arise in the cooling sector, and
feature excellent insulation values. The
compact pipe composite prevents the
formation of longitudinal water and is
self-compensating.
The new Coolflex and Coolmant product
lines are designed to ensure ease of
installation. Tried-and-tested jointing
and additional insulation components
provide reliability and safety during
operation.
