celebrates its 10

anniversary

The

team celebrated its 10

year of

exhibiting at the Institute of Quarrying’s

annual conference and exhibition in April,

starting off so many years ago at the

Birchwood Conference Centre, moving to

Durban’s Elangeni (a favourite venue that

is still spoken of fondly) , then the Gateway

in Umhlanga, and finally once again to

the fairest Cape. Incidentally as a mining

journalist, the editor has attended IQSA

conferences for over two decades.

The past ten years haven’t been easy,

for both the quarrying and the publishing

industries. The quarrying sector has expe-

rienced extreme highs and desperate

lows with very few inbetweens – it really

is a cyclical industry.

Having said that,

thanks its readers

and advertisers for their loyal and contin-

ued support over this decade; without

which, the magazine would not have

developed into what it is today.

Over the last 10 years,

has made

many contacts and friends, and is moving

into the next decade doing what it does

best.
